Water-related databases in Central Asia
The portal provided by the SIC ICWC contains several data base on water allocations, reservoirs, river discharge as well as maps, photo galleries and a great number of publications and links to water-related projects and organizations.
Alpine Exploration in Central Asia
This portal of the University of Idaho provides hydro-meteorological data series of Central Asian terrestrial stations. It is planned, to add glaciological and GIS data as well as data on the geochemistry of ice cores. User registration is required.
Russian Weather Server
The portal provides recent meteorological data from several weather stations in Central Asian countries starting from 1998.
Water-related projects in Central Asia
Details on the second Aral Sea Basin Programm “Programme of concrete actions on improvement of environmental and socio-economic situation in the Aral Sea Basin for the period of 2003-2010” approved by the IFAS in 2003.
Aral HYCOS Project
The Aral HYCOS project proposed by the WMO for implementation within the ASBP-2 plans to install an up-to-date hydrometeorological monitoring network in Central Asia. So far, the project has not started yet.
The project “Economic and Ecological Restructuring of Land and Water Use in the Khorezm Region (Uzbekistan)” is coordinated by the ZEF/UNESCO. It addresses the environmental, social and economic problems in Khorezm, one of the three provinces located within the so-called Aral Sea Zone in Uzbekistan. The project started in 2001, the project phase III will last till 2010.

The Institute of Water Problems and Hydropower of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic studies of the state of water resources under conditions of global climate change.
