...facilitating productive scientific exchanges and laying the groundwork for future cooperation with German counterparts from German Research Centre for Geosciences in Potsdam (GFZ), Humboldt University of Berlin (HU), and Helmholtz-Centre for Environmental Research in Leipzig (UFZ).The delegation comprised Prof. Dr. Abdulhakim Salohiddinov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of TIIAME; postdoctoral researcher Dr. Olga Ashirova; and Mr. Dilmurod Rakhmatullaev, financial specialist at the Agency of Innovative Development under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During their initial days, the guests were hosted at GFZ, with one day dedicated to the official consortium meeting of the CLIMWATER project. On April 23rd, the delegation was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Christoph Schneider, Vice President for Research of the Humboldt University, at the historic building on the renowned Unter den Linden Street in Berlin. Prof. Dr. Schneider graciously led the guests on a tour of the building's impressive historical halls.
On April 24th, Executive Board Members of GFZ Potsdam, Dr. Ludwig Stroink and Dr. Oliver Bens, also welcomed the guests and discussed future joint activities and collaborations between TIIAME National Research University and GFZ Potsdam. In addition to meetings with officials, the delegation engaged in lively bilateral scientific discussions with representatives from HU, including Mr. Phillip Schuster, Mr. Alexander Georgi, and Prof. Dr. Tobias Sauter, as well as with UFZ's Dr. Stefan Geyer.
Future activities under the CLIMWATER project include a Second Young Scientist School in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and an expedition to Pakhtakor Glacier. All upcoming events will be announced promptly on the website.
