Young Scientist School 2023 at TIIAME NRU (Uzbekistan)

Within the framework of the "CLIMWATER" project (Climate Impact Assessment on Water Resources in Uzbekistan; implications to agricultural and hydropower sectors), funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany and the Agency for Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, The School of Young Scientists was organized between July 23-25, 2023 at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers (TIIAME), National Research University (NRU).

 

This school of young scientists included lectures and practical training on climate change and water resources in Uzbekistan. Lecturers from well-known universities such as Humboldt University, TIIAME National Research University and National University of Uzbekistan, as well as research centers such as the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ Potsdam) and Environmental Research Center (UFZ Leipzig) gave lectures and practical exercises on the impact of climate warming on water resources in the country, theoretical information on hydrology and physical processes of water formation, and practical training on the use of modern tools and modeling methods in the management of water resources in the era of climate change in Uzbekistan.
